Jarrod Harper is the NEW Australian Super Sedan Champion

Jarrod Harper from Tasmania has tonight won the Australian Super Sedan Title at Archerfield Speedway, Brisbane

A classic race that went the full 40 laps after a crash on lap 1, that lost Darren Kane and Mark Pagel. All remaining 19 cars finished the event, with only 2 cars being lapped.

Lachlan Onley who was in front for 38 of the 40 laps of the race finished in second place and in third was Matt Pascoe completing a trifecta for the Sweet chassis.

Our Victorians:

Ash Bergmeier started out of 12th spot and finished 18th in the A-Main

Mick Nicola SNR came 3rd in the B-Main then to start 19th and finished 14th in the A-Main

Peter Nicola was an early leader in the B-Main, but did not finish

Mick Nicola JNR finished 5th in the B-Main, missed out by one spot

Wayne Belk started 5th in the C-Main but did not finish

Grid Draws at Archerfield for Aus Super Sedan Title Tonight!!

The grid draws for the Speedway Sedans Australia, SuperCheap Auto, Australian Super Sedan Title have been released, after a function held in Brisbane last night.

Twelve qualifying heats will be held tomorrow night at the SuperCheap Auto, Archerfield Speedway in Brisbane, with South Australian Champion Shane Best having the honour of starting on pole in the opening heat.

Early racing will commence at 4.30pm EST with the first qualifying heat scheduled for 6.00pm EST.

The program also includes events for Junior Sedans.

5 VICTORIANS TO CONTEST AUS TITLE

Now, we look forward to the Supercheap Auto Australian Super Sedan Title, to be held at Archerfield Speedway, Brisbane.
It all gets underway on Thursday 3rd May with scrutineering and practice. The serious stuff is then on from Saturday the 5th May with 3 rounds of heats per car before moving onto Sunday night 6th May for 1 last heat per car, then the all important 40 lap Australian Title.

The event has received a total of 47 entries gunning to be number 1.

The field includes drivers from every State, headed by National Champion Steve Jordan. Five drivers will come from Victoria, Tasmania and New South Wales, with three from Western Australia and two from South Australia, to join the 27 from the host State of Queensland.

For the first time since 2007, every State Champion will be within the field, with Jordan joined by Darren Kane and Mick Nicola as the previous winners of the Australian title.

Representing Victoria will be v16 Ash Bergmeier, v32 Wayne Belk, v2 Peter Nicola, v3 Mick Nicola and Mick Nicola Jnr aboard the v44.

Mick Nicola SNR Wins VSSA Round 11 at Rosedale

Mick Nicola SNR in his National Warranty Company v3 Pontiac has taken out Round 11 of the VSSA Mornington Motors Series held at Rosedale Speedway last night, with a very good racing surface maintained through the night and in the 30 lap feature, which finished just after midnight. Following Nicola in 2nd place was Brad Wicks in his Wicks Transport supported Ford Falcon who came from 4th on the grid and who also has extended his lead to 82 points going into the final round of the VSSA Mornington Motors Southern National Series. Finishing on the podium in 3rd place was Mike Burke, who had a great night of racing with a 2nd, 1st and 5th in his heats and started from 3 in the final.

The Nicola brothers who started off the front of the Main event came together on the opening lap with Mick finishing out at the wall on turn 4 bringing on the yellows, stewards sending the v3 to the rear, then after talking to Mick at the start finish line then reversed their decision and a complete restart was run with Mick Nicola back off position 2 where he went on to lead every lap and take the victory in a good hit out before he heads north to contest the Australian title in 2 weeks at Brisbane.

VSSA Round 11 at Rosedale Speedway this Saturday Night

We hope everyone is looking forward to Round 11 of the Mornington Motors Southern National Series at Rosedale Speedway, this Saturday night. Which will be our second last round of the series.

WICKS 1ST AT MOAMA AND IN THE SERIES!

Brad Wicks has taken out a great win last night at Heartland Raceway, Moama on a hooky, fast but also a little rough surface. Wicks aboard his Wicks Transport supported Ford Falcon came from 3rd on the grid to win ahead of the quick car of the night, Brad Smith in his Insane with Mick Nicola Jnr aboard his National Warranty Co Rocket in third. Brad Wicks has know taken over the lead by 42 points in the series after Peter Nicola was a non finisher in the feature, just when Nicola was looking to put a move on then race leader Brad Smith, Nicola ran over a muffler left on the track from the Colin Galvin car which cut down the v2's right rear tyre.

Heartland Raceway, Moama this Weekend

This Saturday night is the Mornington Motors Southern National Series Round 10 at Heartland Raceway, Moama.

After this round we only have Rosedale and Rushworth to go before the VSSA Series comes to an end.

Peter Nicola gets the chocolates on Easter Sunday!!

Peter Nicola has taken out Round 9 of the VSSA Mornington Motors Series held at Sonic Speedway,Swan Hill last night with an all the way win on a very black slick surface that was hard on tyres in the 30 lap feature. Drive of the night in the feature was Ash Bergmeier who was pushed off the track early in the feature which sent him back to around 7th place. Bergmeier was clearly the quickest car in the final picking off cars high and low one by one racing his way up to an eventual 2nd place finish after he had shown his nose to get passed leader Nicola in the closing stages. The final spot on the podium was filled by Mick Nicola JNR who started from 6.
