The Goldrush this Saturday Night

Article posted on 6 Mar 2019

This Saturday night is the running of the annual Goldrush at Rushworth Speedway. It is shaping up to be a fantastic event with big money on the line for the winner. After a few issues with the track a few weeks ago the GVAC have put a mountain of work into re-working the track and with cooler conditions expected, it should be a fast track

Whilst the field might be a little smaller than usually the quality is there. Local driver Ash Bergmeier has had many wins previously at Rushworth and would like to add the Gold rush trophy to this. Another driver who has tasted success at Rushworth is Peter Nicola picking up  Victorian Super Sedan title win there two years ago.

Jamie Collins is one of the in inform drivers this season picking up a win at his last start at Avalon raceway. Anthony Nicola is another driver who has shown good speed at times during the season will be pushing hard to get to the front.

We have good support from our intestate with drivers from NSW SA & QLD all looking to come and take home their share of the prize money. Making the longest journey is Trent Wilson who is coming down from Townsville. He loves the Rushworth track and will be one to watch on Saturday.

Kym Jury has been in great form in the South Australian Super Sedan series and is another who could win this weekend. Wayne Aylett is another who is fast enough to win this event.

We also have a couple of Victorian Super Sedans longest competing drivers in Lionel West and Neil Witnish. Lionel is no stranger to winning big events and Neil always seems to find a way to the front towards the end of big races

We also have a couple of drivers making their first start of the season with Ben Faulkhead & Ken Pierce. Both drivers will be hoping for solid first runs. We also welcome back Jason Picone who will be having his first race after being away for a number of seasons.

We also may have a couple of late nominations depending if parts arrive on time for those drivers

We also may have a couple of late nominations depdning if parts arrive on time.
